IMPORTANT CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL WIGS

Spellbound by Rene of Paris

Spellbound by Rene of Paris
is a captivating style with long layered smooth hair with textured full, face framing bangs.
Cap Construction: standard cap.

  • Wigs should always be on a wig stand when drying.
  • Wigs should be stored on a wig stand to maintain the shape of the wig.
  • Leave In Conditioner should be generously sprayed on your wig after every time you wear it, whether you are washing it or not. Keeping the fibers conditioned will greatly increase the life of your wig.
  • Wigs should always be combed starting at the bottom and working your way up.
  • Never pull on the fibers when combing, or styling your wig or they will break off and come loose from the wig cap.
  • All wigs can be cut, but we recommend having it done by a professional hair salon. Cutting a wig is much different than cutting your real hair.
  • Human hair wigs can be colored but only by a professional hair salon. You should never attempt to lighten a wig. Because of the processes it is put through to achieve the end color, trying to lighten it will break down the fibers. Color should only be deposited onto your wig. Always buy a wig you are planning on coloring in a shade lighter than you want the end result.
  • Heat friendly synthetic wigs can be blown dry and can be curled or straighten at temperatures no higher than 350 degrees.
  • If you are wearing a synthetic your wig beware when using the oven. Some expert suggest that temperatures higher degrees will damage your wig when you open the oven door. We advise that anytime you are cooking with high temperatures either on the top of the stove or opening the oven door, please be cautious.

STYLING

Jasmine by Rene of Paris

Jasmine by Kim Kimble

Fiber: Synthetic Heat Friendly

General Styling for Heat Friendly Fibers

  • Shake and style with your fingers to achieve the desired look. We recommend a Styling Brush, Styling Comb or fingers to style.
  • Apply a light mist of Leave-in Conditioner + Detangler to difficult tangles if
    needed.
  • Heat-friendly synthetic fiber can be curled, blow dried or flat ironed to achieve a different hairstyle.
  • Heat-friendly synthetic fiber can withstand heat up to 350F/180C. We recommend a low-medium setting. Some manufacturers recommend lower setting. Note all Ellen Will heat friendly fibers styles recommend heat styling tools should be at temperature between 260F to 280F with the use of a spritz of water.
  • To straighten, take a 1 inch section starting at
the roots and run a flat iron to the ends.
  • To curl, wrap the hair around a curling iron and hold for 10 seconds. Carefully slide the iron out and pin the curl in place. Once the fiber has completely cooled it will keep the curl until heat is applied again.
  • If desired, use Hair Spray on the final styled product.

TIPS & TRICKS
  • Soaking longer than the recommended time will
    damage the product.
  • Hot water will damage heat-friendly synthetic fiber.
  • Sudden bursts of heat, such as opening an oven door, will damage heat-friendly synthetic fiber.
  • Do not dry on a solid form or mannequin head to avoid stretching the cap.
  • We do not recommend sleeping, showering or swimming during wear.
  • Store the wig on a Wig Stand to avoid unwanted kinks or crimps.
  • Lace is delicate and should not be tugged or pulled.
  • After extended wear, matting and frizz can occur. To smooth, wash, condition and spray with Leave-in Conditioner + Detangler then blow dry with a Styling Brush.
  • Fiber will be damaged if the heat setting is too high. We do not recommend curling or straightening the hair while wearing. Heatfriendly synthetic fiber will get very hot.

HOW TO COMB A WIG

One of the most important things you can do to keep your wig looking fresh and new is to master the art of combing. Since wig fibers do not have the benefit of natural oils to keep them healthy and lustrous, the procedure of care is a little different from natural hair. But don't worry it's not complicated! Follow the basics, then fine tune your technique for your unique style, and you'll be out the door, looking great, in no time!

The Fundamentals

A GENTLE TOUCH
Keeping things as gentle as possible is key to extending the life of your hairpieces. This applies to anything you do with your wig washing, combing, styling, storing. Take your time, and treat it lovingly.

Fresh Chic by Gabor

Fresh Chic by Gabor is a chin length stacked bob with textured curls and a soft, razor-cut fringe.
Cap Construction: Monofilament Part with Lace Front / Fiber: Synthetic.

WORK YOUR WAY UP
It may be tempting to run that comb straight from the roots downward, but that action can cause the fibers to stretch and break especially if you run into a snag. Instead, begin from the tips and work your way, section by section, up the length of the hair.

Bobbi by Envy Wigs

Bobbi by Envy Wigs ss a sultry look with soft layers cascading down the back and framing the face.
Cap Construction: Monofilament Top with Lace Front / Fiber: Synthetic.

BE CONSISTENT
A combing routine on the days you wear your wig is crucial to avoiding unsightly tangles. Pay special attention to areas of friction, such as the nape of the neckline, where tangles most readily occur.

INVEST IN DETANGLER
It is best to comb your wig while it's dry, but a little spritz of wig detangler can add a helpful amount of slipperiness when working through the strands, especially if they have begun to tangle. Apply it lightly to each area as you work your way through the wig, and then allow it to air dry. Detangling spray can also deliver moisture to the strands and help with static.

2 Combs & a Brush

USE GOOD TOOLS
Always use a wide-tooth comb when grooming your wig. NEVER use a fine comb. These will ensure that your motions through the strands will not create undue stress or stretching, which can ruin your favorite styles in no time.
The three things that we think are most important for wig care are:
1) Wide-tooth comb
2) Wig Detangler
3) Wire wig stand

These and other wig care products are available on the ElegantWigs Accessories page.

FINE TUNING
Straight, curly, layered…. Not all wigs are created equal, and there are a few tricks you can use to comb your wig so you maintain the integrity of its intended style.

SHORT VS LONGER STYLES
Short styles are typically shake-and-wear. The shorter styles can be finger-combed, or we would recommend using a wide-tooth comb.
Longer styles are more easily tangled, especially the fibers that contact the back of your neck, or fall on your shoulders or back. Consequently, longer styles will need more combing, and may require combing several times during a day.

Aura by Envy Wigs

Aura by Ellen Wille
radiates chic sophistication. This timeless, short cut is able to be styled many ways and also features a fascinating neckline that hugs the nape perfectly.
Cap Construction: Monofilament Top with Lace Front

STRAIGHT STYLES (Long)
Straight styles have an allure in their silky smoothness and sophisticated lines. You can keep them looking great by gently sectioning the hair into manageable areas and working through them one by one with a comb. When each section is finished, clip it up and out of the way before proceeding to the next.

Brooke by Envy Wigs

Brooke by Envy Wigs
is a long sultry and sexy layered styling with flirty bangs which can be side swept or worn off the face.
Cap Construction: Monofilament Top with Lace Front

CURLY STYLES
Curly wigs demand a few more accommodations, but their playful attitude more than makes up for it. Ditch the comb and rely on your fingers to carefully work through the strands. If you have ringlets, take a few seconds to wind them in the proper direction on your finger, allowing them to rest and remember their shape. Tangles can occur more easily in curls, and working in smaller sections may be easier to navigate.

Aniyah by Kim Kimble.

Aniyah by Kim Kimble can be worn straight out of the box or you can pick it out for maximum fullness.
Cap Construction: Mono Part with Lace Front / Fiber: Synthetic Heat Friendly

IN CLOSING
By following the fundamentals and upping your technique to fit your wig style, you can ensure your hair piece will have a longer life and look great each step of the way!
